Why does my screen look yellow, red or blue?

Disable night mode, eye-care filters, automatic color temperature and third-party overlays, then inspect white and mid-gray backgrounds. A uniform warm or cool appearance is often a setting or calibration choice; a fixed patch or one-sided tint is more likely a panel uniformity issue.

Most yellow-looking screens are caused by night mode, eye-care mode, a warm color-temperature preset, reading mode or a third-party filter rather than panel failure. Pay closer attention when white or light gray remains strongly tinted after every filter is disabled, or when a fixed patch, band or asymmetric tint appears. A browser can provide neutral backgrounds for visual checks but cannot replace a colorimeter or official diagnostics.

Rule out software and room lighting

System display settings, dark mode, reading mode, game filters, blue-light apps and browser extensions can all alter color. Warm lamps make white look yellow, while strong cool lighting can make it look blue. Compare two devices on the same white page under neutral room lighting when possible.

Separate overall color temperature from local abnormalities. A uniform warm or cool look is usually a calibration preference. A yellow corner, red side, colored band or patch in gray is more consistent with a uniformity, backlight or panel issue. OLED panels can also show slight tint at low gray levels, so compare several brightness settings.

Disable eye-care, night mode, filters and automatic color temperature, then restore the default display profile.
Open the solid-color test and inspect white, gray, red, green and blue for uniformity. Look especially for colored bands in gray.
Use the gradient test to check for smooth transitions, obvious steps and color patches.
Rotate the device, change viewing angle and room lighting, then take evidence photos. Record brightness and whether filters were disabled.

When to contact support

For a new device, contact the seller during the return window if strong full-screen tint remains with filters disabled, a fixed local color patch or severe gray banding is visible, or the unit differs greatly from the same model. Brands define color difference and uniformity differently, so rely on written policy and inspection results. A slight preference for warmer or cooler white is not normally a fault.
